Project ALS -The Kleiner Family Research Initiative

Meredith Gonnason is an experienced creative professional and is currently the Senior Director of Multichannel Production at Synchrony Healthcare Communications. Since finishing her undergrad at Princeton University she has called many places home including Thailand, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. She currently lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband James and twin toddlers, Chloe and Bo. Meredith met Project ALS in 2013 when her mother, Carol Kleiner, was diagnosed with ALS at 57. The Kleiner family, with their friends and community, formed Carol’s Crew and raised over $1.5M for the Kleiner Family Research Initiative at Project ALS. In its first five years, the Kleiner Initiative has pushed researchers to speed up drug discovery for ALS—to think beyond a laboratory result to the actual therapeutic interventions that patients so urgently need—and has already supported the development of two novel potential ALS treatments, prosetin and alsterpaullone.
